Peter Sellers: “Anybody seen my shorts?” Some news from Tony Watts, the man behind the restoration of the three lost Sellers shorts…
“Hopefully we shall shortly be moving the shorts to a restoration company associated with ITV. That will help enormously in terms of eventual distribution. I am directly in touch with the restoration team and have chased them for an exact date for the work being concluded.
“…we have been negotiating with a UK broadcaster for use of the scanner they have. There is then a plan under discussion for them to take the broadcast rights for the UK. All the money raised is in a dedicated Sellers Kickstarter restoration account.
“It is still intended for a UK Film Premiere and release this year.”

Longtime stunt man/double/coordinator Joe Dunne passed, aged 86 on 15 January – Telegraph Obituary

One such film was to be written by Likely Lads writing duo Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, who also wrote Prisoner of Zenda. However, Sellers pulled out of the project. The film was to have been a remake of the 1932 original, Chandu The Magician. Here it is!
