In 1963 the Goon Show had a partial revival in the form of The Telegoons.
This was an animated TV series made by Grosvenor Films, based on some of the original radio scripts. Two series of 11 and 15 episodes respectively were made, and were first shown in 1963 and 1964.
For these shows, the original radio plots were edited down to 15 minutes by Maurice Wiltshire. The puppets were designed and built by Ron Field and Ralph Young, and the soundtracks were almost all freshly recorded by Spike, Peter and Harry.
Much more information on the Telegoons, and restored recordings, is contained in The Encyclopædia Goonicus. For expertise in the subject of the Telegoons however, we defer to the work of Alastair Roxburgh and his excellent official Telegoons website.
