As this is a ‘special issue’ we present a special focus on Peter Sellers specially, followed by the usual suspects.
Below, you’ll find a selection of material from the last 40 years of PS. But to start on a lighter note, here are some other interesting pieces…

The hot news this time around is the availability (in the USA only) of The Ghost Of Peter Sellers on DVD. The producer tells me that he hopes that the film will be picked up for release in Europe soon.

The Best of British is a monthly magazine. The July issue features a four page piece on Peter Sellers, complete with a backwards photo and some glaring mistakes (who is Anne Rudolph? – should be Hayes!) but it also has an interview with Burt Kwouk. Single copies may be purchased from the magazine’s website.
The latest edition of The Oldie also has Sellers on the cover with a two page feature. Roger Lewis calls him, ‘a sinister genius’ and a ‘mad magician’, but the article does have a good focus on Sellers the performer with reference to his films being ‘full of delicate touches and detail’, …you decide!

The Lost Peter Sellers Shorts The big news currently, is the plan to fund the
restoration and Blu-ray release of three lost films by Peter Sellers.
Insomnia Is Good For You and Dearth Of A Salesman were found in a skip (a dumpster) and in 2013 they were shown at a few select film festivals along with the other film in the series, Cold Comfort. This project is being masterminded by Tony Watts via Kickstarter, the fundraising website. The target is to raise £4,000 and the project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by 29 September 2020. The website explains how you can contribute to this
worthwhile and exciting Sellers project.
